Canon Mx522 Printer Setup

WHAT’S INSIDE THE BOX?

Before going to the printer setup, you need to be aware of the box contents that come along with your Canon Pixma MX522 printer.

UNBOXING SETUP:

• Unbox the printer and its accessories.
• Remove all the packaging materials from the Canon printer as well as from the box contents.
• Make sure that you remove all the tapes from the outside and inside of the printer.
• Plug one end of the power cord to the rear end of the printer and the other end to an electric outlet.
• Firmly press the power button to turn on the printer.
• Once the printer turns on, use the control panel to change the printer settings as per your choice.

LOADING PAPER:

• Prepare a stack of paper and align the edges.
• Gently open the front cover of the printer and extend the paper support.
• Slide the paper guides towards the edges of the tray.
• Load the paper stack in a way that the print side is facing down.
• Close the paper tray.

INK CARTRIDGE INSTALLATION:

• Take out the ink cartridges and remove the protective materials.
• Make sure that the printer is turned on during the entire ink cartridge installation.
• Open the front cover and then open the paper output tray.
• When the ink cartridge cover moves to the replacement position, the headcover will open automatically.
• Push the ink cartridge lock lever until it clicks.
• Install the ink cartridges into the respective slots.
• Once done, close the paper output cover.
• Wait for a few minutes until the cartridges are charged completely.
• Press the Menu button and go to the Setup Menu.
• Select the Estimated ink levels option to know the ink cartridges level.

Once the unboxing and initial setup are over, you need to download and install the printer drivers on your PC to enjoy all the printer functions.

• Switch on your computer and connect to the Internet.
• Open your default web browser and go to the Canon printer’s support page.
• In the search bar, type your printer’s model name.
• In the next window, click on the Drivers & Downloads button.

• Select your PC’s Operating System and Language.
• Choose the relevant printer drivers and click the SELECT button.
• Now, click the DOWNLOAD button and this will initiate the download process.

DRIVER INSTALLATION STEPS:

As you have completed the download process, you can continue with the driver installation steps.

• First, locate the downloaded setup file on your PC.
• Double-click on the file to begin the installation process.
• The system will start extracting the files.
• In the Welcome window, click Next.
• Select the Place of residence and click on the Next button.
• Read the License Agreements and click Yes to accept the same.
• Connect the USB cable between the printer and your computer and click Next.
• However, you also have the option of connecting the printer wirelessly.
• The setup will automatically detect the printer.
• Click the Complete button to close the installation window.

TRY TO PRINT A TEST PAGE:

After the completion of the printer driver setup, it is necessary to print a test page.

• Click on the Start Menu.
• Open the Control Panel window.
• Click Category and select Small icons.
• Tap on Devices and Printers.
• Now, you can see your Canon MX522 printer under the Printers section.
• Right-click on the printer name and select Printer properties from the drop-down menu.
• Click on Print Test Page.
• If your printer is able to print the document, it means that you have successfully completed the Canon Pixma MX522 printer setup.
